If this describes you, and you are ready for the next step in your career journey, pet grooming could be the answer.

​

Currently there is a nation-wide shortage of groomers. NZ Pet Grooming Academy is the only training school that offers grooming courses in the greater Wellington region.

​

When you complete our beginners course, you will be proficient in:

• Washing

• Drying

• Brushing

• De-matting

• De-shedding

• Basic clipping and scissoring

• Learning about different products and when to use them

• Salon hygiene

• Cleaning of equipment

• How to handle aggressive animals

• Animal First Aid

• Some theory will also be included.

The cost of this course is $1990. Daily lunch is included.

The course is offered over 3 days. Hours are 10am - 3pm each day. Dogs will be provided for learning and practice.

​

We provide ongoing practice and support for 8 weeks post-course. This is at our salon in Greytown, and in your own environment. We encourage you to practice as much as you can to gain knowledge and confidence. You will then have the option to return for a hands-on exam. A certificate from NZ Pet Grooming Academy will then be awarded upon successful completion of the exam. The cost for the exam and certificate is $199.
